Alan E. Rodgers, 86, Antis Township died unexpectedly early Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his home.
He was born August 9, 1934 in Philipsburg, son of the late Frank I. and Grace Mae (Dobbs) Rodgers.
On April 24, 1965, he married Darline A. Campbell in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Rickie E. (Cynthia) Wilson of Bellwood; two grandchildren,
Todd (Michelle)and Andrew (Dena) Wilson; five great grandchildren, Dylan, Preston, Sophia, Cooper and Marley; a brother, Ray B. of Tyrone; three sisters, Alice Kobuck and Donna Lee Lewis, both of Tyrone, and Sandra Jean Nelson of Gallitzin; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Vila Ann Dillon, and Frank E. and Charles D. Rodgers
He was a US Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict and retired as a supervisor at Westvaco, Tyrone with 23 years of service.
Alan was a member of Covenant Community Church, Bellwood. He was a 46 year member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bellwood where he was past worthy president serving from 1975-77, and also served as a trustee and secretary. He was also a 46 year member of John M. Anderson American Legion Post 424, Bellwood.
Alan enjoyed carpentry, woodworking, and driving his old 1949 Plymouth to car shows.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm, Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4pm, Thursday at the funeral home, Pastor Joshua Crumlich officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
