Albert L. Allison, 95, Bellmeade, formerly of Bellwood, died Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at Graystone Manor, Bellmeade. He was born March 23, 1925 in Altoona, son of the late Melvin H. and Ida V. (Loudon) Allison.
On December 24, 1954, he married Janet Lauver at the Lauver home in Bellwood. She preceded him in death on Nov. 3, 2012.
Surviving are a son, Stephen L. and wife, Yan of Boise, Idaho; a brother, Carl of Hollidaysburg; and his sister in law and dedicated caregiver, Judith Lightner of Bellwood. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Albert was a US Navy veteran serving on the USS New Jersey during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He retired as a dye cutter at Butterick Company, Altoona. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood. Albert enjoyed woodworking and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan, along with his love of Penn State football. He enjoyed going for car rides with his wife, Janet.
There will be no public viewing, visitation or funeral service.
The family suggests that contributions in Albert’s memory be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society.
