Obituary for Arthur C. "Butch" Campbell

Arthur C. “Butch” Campbell, Jr., 73, Frankstown Township, passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon, November 2, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with multiple myeloma.
He was born December 8, 1948 in Roaring Spring, a son of the late Arthur C., Sr. and Shirley (Johnson) Campbell.
On March 7, 1970, he married Mary Ella Weyant at Frankstown Park Missionary Church.
Surviving are his devoted and loving wife of 52 years; three children, Lori M. (Darrin) Showalter and Barry A. (Crystal), both of Roaring Spring, and Brian A. (Jaime) of Martinsburg; five grandchildren, Amanda, Alana, Ashton, Avery and Paiton; a great granddaughter, Harrison; two sisters, Patty (Melvin) Edwards and Linda Leamer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He attended Hollidaysburg Area School District. Butch proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era. In 2010, he retired as a welder at Berwind-White, Hollidaysburg after 44 years of service.
He was a member of Juniata Valley Gospel Church, Hollidaysburg, where he was a volunteer on the “apple dumpling gang”.
He loved tending to his massive garden, hunting, attending auctions and going for banana splits. In his younger years, he coached pony league baseball in Hollidaysburg. His daily routine included caring for his chickens, affectionately called “his ladies” and feeding his pet squirrels. Butch and his wife, Mary, enjoyed attending their grandchildren’s sporting events, rarely missing a game.

Friends will be received from 3 to 6pm, Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022 and 10 to 11am, Mon., Nov. 7, 2022 at Juniata Valley Gospel Church, Hollidaysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11am Monday at the church, with Pastor Bill Gualdoni officiating.
