Obituary for Buddy E. Colyer

Buddy E. Colyer, 74, Antis Township, died Thursday afternoon, February 25, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born March 26, 1946 in Altoona, son of the late Elwood “Bud” Colyer and Evelyn (Endress) Colyer Buchanan.
Surviving are a sister, Darlene (Colyer) Benner, and her husband, Richard; three nephews, Bryan (Lori) Benner, and Tyler and Luke Benner; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by a niece, Monica Benner.
Buddy was a 1965 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School, where he participated in many sports during his school years.
He retired from the maintenance department of Bellwood Borough Authority. He also served his community as a Bellwood police officer for many years and he was a life member of Excelsior Fire Co. No. 1, Bellwood.
Buddy was an avid fan of area sporting events, and especially loved to attend the Bellwood-Antis Blue Devil football games. He was a member of the Bellwood Sportsmen Club and Bellwood Eagles, where he enjoyed helping with the annual children’s Christmas parties. Buddy also served many years on the Bellwood Antis Community Picnic Committee.
Buddy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his two best friends, John Hirt and Dick Kensinger, and friend, Nancy.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service to be held at 1pm, Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood, with Pastor Randy Zitterbart officiating. The wearing of masks and practice of social distancing are requested.
