Obituary for Charles R. "Bud" Hileman

Charles R. “Bud” Hileman, 82, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veterans Home, formerly of Bellwood and Graystone Court Bellmeade, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the home.
He was born Dec. 13, 1939 at the family home in Frankstown, a son of the late Charles M. and Christine C. (Ling) Hileman. On Oct. 26, 1968, he married Doris L. Taylor of Bellwood, at the Methodist Church in Altoona. She preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 2004, after sharing 36 years of marriage.
Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Hileman of Tyrone, formerly of Bellwood; a sister, Bonnie Malone of Hollidaysburg; a sister in law, Barbara Poorman of Bellwood; two nieces, Tracey (Poorman) Cmar, and husband, Tim of Bellwood, and Julie Malone of Hollidaysburg; 2 great nieces, Jessica (Parson) Hertzler, and husband, Jesse of Altoona, and Brooke Cmar of Bellwood; a great-great niece, Ashlyn Hertzler of Altoona; two great-great nephews, Zyler Hertzler of Altoona and Luciano Cmar of Bellwood.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Donna; a nephew, Mark Poorman; a great great niece, Ashley Parson; and his mother in law, Velma “Red” Taylor.
Bud was a 1958 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1961 – 1966 with the 3970th Support Squadron, including two years at Torrejon Airbase, Spain. In 2003, he retired as a machinist at SKF, Altoona, after 37 years of service.
Bud was a former member of Riggles Gap Bible Church and a member of Bellwood U.V.H Club. He enjoyed Penn State sports and all professional Pittsburgh sports teams.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Monday, May 16, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at the funeral home, with Pastor William Ice officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be held at Alto- Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
