Obituary for Dolores D. "Dee" Cogan (Hruby)
Dolores D. “Dee” Cogan, 82, Bellwood, died early Friday morning, October 23, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.
She was born March 14, 1938 in Latrobe, daughter of the late Joseph and Helen (Seperko) Hruby.
Surviving are her husband, Robert D. Cogan of Bellwood; a daughter, Suzanne L. (Matt) Keagy of Mount Holly Springs; two granddaughters, Courtney Keagy of Mount Holly Springs and Lindsey (Mark) Chimel of Greencastle; her sister, Helen Hruby of Shorewood, Wis.; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey A. Cogan on December 27, 2017.
Dolores retired as production coordinator at Blair Sign Co., Altoona after more than 20 years of service. In addition, she was owner/operator of Dolores Cogan Beauty Salon, Bellwood for 25 years. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood.
Dee was an avid reader, and she enjoyed flower gardening, making clothing, knitting, cooking and baking for her family and had a love for birds. She especially enjoyed shopping trips with her friends. Her family was her passion.
Friends will be received from 4 to 6pm, Monday, October 26, 2020 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 6pm, Monday at the funeral home, Pastor Tim Guyer officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
The family suggests that contributions in Dee’s memory be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1837 E. Pleasant Valley Blvd. Altoona, PA 16602
