Obituary for Edward S. Engle III

Edward S. Engle, III, 59, of Bellwood, died unexpectedly Thursday September 29, 2022 at his home.
He was born June 28, 1963 in York, a son of the late Edward S., Jr. and Carole K. (Hollen) Engle.
Surviving are his daughter, Danielle N. (Corey) Farrell of Mars; two granddaughters, Lydia and Jacqueline; three brothers, Robert W., Timothy J. (Dani) and Scott A. (Theresa), all of Bellwood; two sisters, Corinthia A. (Patrick) Morningstar of Sinking Valley and Amy R. Abrams of Bellwood; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kristina K. Hockenberry.
Ed was employed as principal/director of business development and certified building inspector at Arrow Land Solutions, LLC, Altoona. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bellwood and U.V.H.A, Bellwood.
An avid runner, he enjoyed working out, hunting, four wheeling, and golfing. He also enjoyed working at his job, playing in his pool league, cornhole tournaments, traveling and going to casinos with his brothers
He was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, friend, father, and grandfather.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters, who absolutely adored their “Pop Pop”.
Ed will be remembered for his positivity, zest for life, compassion, generosity, humor, adventurous spirit, and his willingness to help anyone in any way without question.
Friends will be received from 4 to 8 pm, Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Weds., Oct. 5, 2022 at the funeral home, with Pastor John Poe officiating. A graveside service, with military honors, will follow at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
A celebration of Ed’s life will also be held from 6 to 8pm, Wed., Oct. 5, 2022 at Bellwood Eagles.
The family suggests that contributions in Ed’s memory be made to Special Olympics Blair County.
