Obituary for Estelle Elizabeth "Betsy" Brandt (Brandt)
Estelle E. “Betsy” Brandt, 85, Altoona died early Thursday morning October 29, 2020 at UPMC Altoona.
She was born July 29, 1935 in Union, South Carolina, daughter of the late Rev. Frederick William, Sr. and Nelle (Haile) Brandt.
She is survived by her brother, Frederick William (Judy) Brandt, Jr. of Altoona; and three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Woods.
Betsy earned her bachelor’s degree at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina and retired as a school teacher at Northern Bedford School District. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Altoona where she was also a member of the choir. She shared her musical talent by playing the organ at various churches and weddings.
To honor Betsy’s request, there will be no viewing, visitation or funeral service. Inurnment will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery, Walhalla, South Carolina.
