Obituary for Glenn R. Pelter II

Glenn R. Pelter, II, 73, of Antis Township, died late Sunday evening, January 29, 2023 at his home after a brief battle with colon cancer.
He was born March 3, 1949 in Altoona, a son of the late Glenn R. and Laura (Robertson) Pelter.
On June 12, 1971, he married Diane K. Bungo at Olivet Baptist Church, Bellwood.
He is survived by his wife; a grandson, Mason R. of Dillsburg; daughter in law, Kelli A. of Dillsburg; a brother, Gary Q. (Chris)of Sequim, Washington; and two sisters, Marguerite (Gerry) Woitel of Anchorage, Alaska and Diane L. Harris of Spanaway, Washington. He was preceded in death by his son, Clifford W. on Jan. 15, 2018.
Glenn was a 1967 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. He was a veteran having served with the US Army Vietnam 1st Cavalry Div A Apache Troop 1-9, and enjoyed attending their reunions. He retired as a line operator at PPG Industries, Tipton.
Glenn was a member of the United Veterans Association, Bellwood, the N.R.A and Excelsior Fire Co. No. 1, Bellwood. He supported his local fire companies, both Bellwood and Pinecroft.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, bee keeping, hunting, and fishing. He also loved time at his pond, shooting and collecting guns, cooking and reading.
Glenn’s greatest joy was spending time with his beloved grandson, Mason.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4pm, Friday, Feb. 3, 2023 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held at 4pm Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor John Poe officiating.

The family suggests that contributions in his memory be made to Excelsior Fire Co. #1, Bellwood or Pinecroft Volunteer Fire Co.
