Obituary for Jean Harriet Erbeck (Hazlett)

Jean Harriet Erbeck, 87, Tipton, died Monday afternoon, December 14, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family, after a battle with cancer.
She was born July 9, 1933 in the front bedroom of her grandmother Johnson’s Greenwood home, a daughter of the late Frank and Ruth (Johnson) Hazlett.
On Sept. 3, 1955, she married William A. Erbeck at St. Mary’s Catholic Church Rectory in Altoona.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Susan E. Sharer of Manchester and Carol J. (John) Bricklemyer of Shawnee, Kansas; five granddaughters, Emily (Matthew) Schultheis, Lauren (Mike) Partridge, Alyson (Grant) Izzo, Lindsey (Luke) Philipp and Kristen (Josh) Moody; six great grandchildren, Rosalyn, Rebekah, August, Carter, Noah and Hannah; and two brothers, George W. Hazlett of Sandusky, Ohio and Kenneth Hazlett of Newport News, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her son, Christopher W.
Jean was a loving mother and homemaker. She was of the Presbyterian faith and she enjoyed bowling and vegetable gardening. Her greatest love were her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of her family. Committal will be at
Calvary Cemetery, Altoona.
The family suggests that contributions in Jean’s memory be made to Central Penna. Humane Society or UPMC Family Hospice, Altoona.
