Obituary for John M. Dale

John M. Dale, 93, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home, formerly of Bellwood,died early Thursday morning, January 28, 2021 at the home, due to natural causes.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late William and Dorothy (Templeton) Dale. On June 20, 1952 he married Winifred Davinsizer in Bellwood and she preceded him in death on Jan. 5, 2015.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah A. (Tim) Knab and Cynthia L. (Bill) Lykens, both of Hollidaysburg; and two grandsons, Christopher M. Knab of Altoona and Brian M. Lykens of Hollidaysburg. He was the last of his immediate family, preceded in death by four siblings.
John was a US Army veteran serving during World War II. He retired as a tire mechanic at Ward Trucking Co., Altoona. John enjoyed feeding birds and playing scratch off lottery tickets. His greatest joy was spending time with his two grandsons.
There will be no public funeral services. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
The family would like to thank the employees at Hollidaysburg Veterans’ Home for the wonderful care they provided John.
