Obituary for John D. Greene
John D. Greene, 78, of Altoona, died late Monday evening March 1, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born February 28, 1943 in Mount Vernon, New York, son of the late John B. And Dora M. (Reed) Greene.
On June 18, 1962, he married Linda L. Walker in Altoona.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Brian K. and Dale A. (Barbara) Greene, both of Altoona; a daughter, Tammy L. Greene of Altoona; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Marrone; and a brother, Howard “Sonny” Greene.
John was owner of J&J Cleaning, Altoona. He attended Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona.
In his younger days, he enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. His greatest joy was
spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 11am to 1pm, Friday, March 5, 2021 at Calvary Baptist Church, Altoona. A funeral service will be held at 1pm, Friday, at the church, with Pastor Ron Anderson officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
