Obituary for John B. Greene Jr.
John B. Greene, Jr., 84, of Bellwood, died unexpectedly Monday evening, January 9, 2023 at his home.
He was born April 22, 1938 in Tyrone, son of the late John B., Sr. and Geraldine (Benton) Greene.
On Aug. 7, 1959, he married Kay Myers at Tipton United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years; two sons, John B., III (Melissa) of Sebring, Fla. and
Michael (Tonya) of College Station, Tx.; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
John was a 1956 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. He retired from Blair County Office of the Prothonotary, and later served as Magisterial District Judge for District 24-3-01, Tyrone.
John was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood. He enjoyed working in his yard.
To honor his wishes, there will be no public viewing. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of his family with the Rev. Steve Lynn officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park, Antis Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in John’s memory be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
