Joseph F. “Joe” Marinak, 79, of Antis Township passed away early Monday morning, July 25, 2022 at his home.
He was born Feb. 6, 1943 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Joseph M. and Mary (Swancer) Marinak.
On June 1, 1974, he married Barbara A. Miller in Snowshoe.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Glenn (Peggy) of Lilly and Roy (Allison) of Bellwood; five grandchildren, Justin, Nicholas, Andre, Ryan and Lauren; and three siblings, Ronald Marinak, Vikki Franek and Marie Tobias. He was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Pighetti.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during Vietnam and also served with the Army Reserve for 25 years. He retired as a machinist at Blair Companies. Following his retirement, Joe went back to school, graduating from National Association of Watch & Clock Collectors School of Horology. “It’s About Time” was his pastime and hobby of watch and clock repairs.
He was a longtime treasurer of Bellwood Lions Club. Joe was active at Bellwood-Antis Public Library where he served as vice president of the board and was very involved in the maintenance of the library.
An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Joe enjoyed spending time at Wolf Run Stone Camp where he was a longtime member and secretary/treasurer.
Friends will be received from 5 to 7pm, Thursday, July 28, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. Military honors will be held at 7pm Thursday at the funeral home.
The family suggests that contributions in Joe’s memory be made to Bellwood-Antis Public Library.
