Joyce Hepler Haupt
June 2, 1937 – June 2, 2021
Joyce Hepler Haupt, 84, Bellwood, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 2, 2021 at Garvey Manor, Hollidaysburg. She was born June 2, 1937 in New Bethlehem, daughter of the late Clair and Della (Shafer) Hepler. On August 19, 1956, she married the love of her life, J. Perry Haupt.
Left to cherish her memory and godly example are her husband; three children, Linda (Richard) Gray of Bellwood, Lisa (Richard) Bond of Salem, Va., and Stephen (Susan) Haupt of Duncansville; eight grandchildren, Aaron (Ashlee) Gray, Leah (Dr. Eric) Morse, Lydia (Michael) Kives, Dr. Austin (Nicole) Bond, Evan Bond, Emily Haupt, Ethan Haupt and Annie Bond; five great grandchildren, Connor and Carson Gray, Brody Morse, Wyatt Bond and Gray Kives; and a brother J. Gerald (Lucy) Hepler of Anchorage, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. J. William Hepler and Dr. John E. Hepler.
Joyce was a 1955 graduate of Brookville High School where she enjoyed singing in a girls’ trio and cheerleading. She attended West Penn Hospital X-ray technician program.
Joyce devoted her life to God, her family and her friends. As a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Bellwood, she was active in youth work, United Methodist Women, and the choir. She was also a member of Covenant Community Church, Bellwood. Joyce volunteered with the American Red Cross Bloodmobile and various abuse and homeless shelters. She was known for her Alaskaland cheesecakes and orange cookies.
She also worked alongside her husband in The Haupt Family Mission, spreading the gospel to the world.
Joyce’s faith and trust in Christ as her Savior guided all that she did and said, and her favorite verse was Psalm 118:24 “This is the day that the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.”
The family would like to extend their extreme gratitude for the care Joyce received at Garvey Manor.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Garvey Manor, Bellwood-Antis Public Library or The Haupt Family Mission c/o 601 E. 5th St. Bellwood, Pa 16617.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
