Obituary for Karen L. Salsgiver (Garman)

Karen L. Salsgiver, 70, Bellwood, died unexpectedly Sunday, January 17, 2021 at her home.
She was born April 18, 1950 in Altoona, daughter of the late Clyde and Ann Garman.
On Feb. 1, 1991, she married Ronald K. Salsgiver, Sr. in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Ronald C. (Christine) Schellhammer of Fredricksburg,
Ronald K. (Rhonda) Salsgiver, Jr. of North Carolina, and Dennis E. (Dawn) Salsgiver of Roaring Spring; a daughter, Karen A. Keller of Bellwood; fourteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, David Miller of Bellwood; and two sisters, Sue Snyder of Hollidaysburg and Sylvia Albert of Tyrone. She was preceded in death by a brother Ronald E. “Charlie” Johnson.
Karen was owner of Karen’s Childcare, Bellwood and she was a member of Hillside Community Church, Bellwood. She enjoyed reading, winemaking, traveling to wineries and feeding the birds, squirrels and cats. She was a good wife and loving mother.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 pm, Sat., Jan. 23, 2021 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A memorial service will be held at 5pm, Sat. Jan. 23, 2021 at Hillside Community Church, Bellwood.

The family suggests that contributions in Karen’s memory be made to Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, Altoona, Pa.
