July 25, 1938 – May 31, 2022

Kathryn E. Conner, 83 of Tipton, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at Penn Highlands Tyrone.
She was born at home in Clymer, daughter of the late Fred F. and Kathryn (Nichols) Putt. She married Robert R. Conner, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 2009.

Surviving are her children, Michael R. of Altoona, Chris A. (Donald) Kline of Hopewell, Dawn M. of Phoenix, Az ; an adopted daughter, Diane Irwin of Tipton; 5 grandchildren: Tracy (Randy) Stuber, Robert, Leah Scott, Gabrielle (William) Helsel, and Christen (Brandon) Wertz ; 8 great grandchildren: Hanna and Tyler McClellan, Hailey and Mason Helsel, Joshua, Kevin and Jonathan Hann, and Jensen Daily; 4 great-great grandchildren: Brayden, Bryce, Charlotte and Remington; and 2 brothers: Fred (Susan) Putt Jr. of Pinecroft and Jeffrey (Sandra) Putt of Juniata.

She was preceded by a sister Rosella Mae Banfield.

Kathryn was a 1956 graduate of Altoona Area High School. She had a long career in the medical field as a medical secretary. Kathryn was also a bookkeeper for her husband’s business, Conner Heating and Air Conditioning and John Stroup Assoc. She was a member of Tipton United Methodist Church where she served in many different offices. Kathryn was a member of Jobel Court #11, Jaffa Campers, a pinochle club and a former member of Cootietts Post #3.

She was an avid crocheter of newborn baby caps and afghans for her family and friends, and church family. Kathryn traveled through the United States while her husband served 22 years in the US Air Force. After her retirement, she enjoyed wintering in Florida with her husband.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 pm Tues. June 7, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc., Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 10 am Weds., June 8, 2022 at the funeral home, Rich Ryan officiating.

Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery, Altoona.
