Obituary for Kenneth D. Conrad

Kenneth D. Conrad, 82, of Bellwood died early Tuesday morning, February 28, 2023 at UPMC Altoona.
He was born December 21, 1940 in Altoona, a son of the late Kenneth and Gertrude (Gardner) Conrad.
On Feb. 11, 1961, he married Dorothy L. Estep at Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Cheryl A. DeArmitt; grandchildren, Ashley and Robert DeArmitt; two great grandsons, Blake and Hampton DeArmitt; two brothers, Garry L. and Thomas J. (Sue); a sister, Lesa Wells; a step brother, Larry (Deb) Lamarre; and brothers and sisters in law, Cathy (Brian) Kustaborder, and George and Ron (Judy) Estep. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Dolly; and his step mother, Dorothy.
Ken was a 1960 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School, and retired as a line operator
at PPG Industries, Tipton. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Bellwood.
He was a past master of Tyrone Lodge 494, and a current member of Hiram Lodge 616 F&AM and the Scottish Rite Bodies. He was a past potentate of Jaffa Shrine, Altoona where he was also a member of Jesters Altoona Court #70, The Q, and Jaffa Drum and Bugle Corps.
He formerly served on Bellwood Borough Council, and also coached little league football.
Ken traveled to all but 5 of the United States and he loved cruising, camping, fishing and hunting. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his great grandson, Blake.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7pm, Monday, March 6, 2023, where a Masonic service will also be held at 7pm; and from 10 to 11am, Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, at the funeral home, with Pastors Paul and Barb Jensen officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
The family suggests that contributions in Ken’s memory be made to Jaffa Shrine, Altoona.
