Obituary for Marcella H. Campbell (Harris)

Marcella H. Campbell, 84, of Bellwood, died early Wednesday morning, August 17, 2022 at Homewood at Martinsburg, after a brief illness.
She was born August 16, 1938 in Altoona, daughter of the late Paul R. and Mary A. (McGeary) Harris.
Surviving are her children, Michael W. (Lori) and Robin J. Campbell, both of Bellwood; four grandchildren, Cooper J. (Megan) and Bailey C. (fiancé, Jonah Bayer) Campbell, and Lainey G. and Jayce A. Quick; a great-grandchild, Cillian Campbell; a brother, Orville “Duke” Harris of New York; and her dog, Diamond.
Marcella was a 1956 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
She retired as a school teacher at Altoona Area School District after 30 years of service.
She was a member of Logan’s Valley Baptist Church, Bellwood, where she served as organist, as well as at Salem Lutheran Church, Antis Township. Marcella was a member of Blair County Teacher Association and she participated in the Senior Olympics for many years. An avid Altoona Curve fan, she also worked as a stadium usher. She was a Penn State football fan and attended many bowl games. She enjoyed traveling and going to Pittsburgh Pirates spring training camp.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Monday, August 22, 2022 at Jon C Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at the funeral home, with Pastor Stanley Gill officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park, Altoona.
The family suggests contributions in Marcella’s memory be made to Central Penna. Humane Society, Altoona.
