Obituary for Megan F. Fortney (Frantz)

Megan F. Fortney, 42, of Bellwood, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, February 11, 2023 at Penn Highlands Healthcare Tyrone. She was born February 23, 1980 in Altoona, a daughter of Matthew and Nancy Frantz.
On Sept. 30, 2006 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, she married her high school sweetheart, Travis M. Fortney, with love that will last for eternity.
Surviving are her husband; twin daughters, Kaitlyn and Ryleigh; her father, Matthew, and his wife, Beth; her mother, Nancy Frantz, and her husband, Thomas Stetter, Jr.; sister, Jennifer (Jason) Ufema, and daughter, Emma; sister, Alex Frantz; her “Nanny”, Virginia Frantz; mother in law, Jacquelyn (Raphael) Voltz; father in law, Darryl Fortney; two brothers in law, Chad (Monica) Fortney and Raphael Voltz, IV; and several loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Megan was a 1998 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Mount Aloysius College, Cresson. She was employed as a supervisor at CVS Healthcare and was a member of Saint Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone.
Even though Megan had a long battle with Brittle Bone Disease, she loved every minute of life, and was an inspiration to every person she met. She was very artistic and her quick wit, sense of humor, contagious laugh, along with her continuous smile and positive attitude will be missed.
She enjoyed traveling to the beach and spending time at the family camp in Glendale. Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, being a doting loving mother to her daughters, who meant the world to her, and her family.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Weds., Feb. 15, 2023 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood, where a vigil for the deceased will also be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am, Thurs., Feb. 16, 2023 at Saint Matthew Catholic Church, Tyrone, with Rev. Michael Pleva, as celebrant.
