Michael G. Bradley, Sr., 75, of Tyrone, passed away late Wednesday evening, March 23, 2022 at James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, Altoona. He was born October 27, 1946 in Altoona, son of the late Robert D. and Ruby E. (Beamer) Bradley. On July 1, 1980, he joined together with Regina Mary Crawford.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Michael G., Jr. (Kortney); four grandchildren, Kiara, Kaitlin, Koen and Walker; a sister, Ellen (Jack Porta) Casey; his extended family, children, Chuck (Lori) Erickson, and Tammy (Glenn) Kirkpatrick; extended grandchildren, Amanda, Emily, Maggie, Chad, Courtney, and Zach; extended great grandchildren, Isabelle, Jack and Raina. He was preceded in death by brother in law, Robert Imler.
Michael was a 1964 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966-69 during the Vietnam Era, where he spent more than two years in Germany as a Pershing Missile crewman and firing section chief. In 2001, he retired as a pattern web press tender at Butterick Fashion Marketing. He also drove a school van for 4 years.
He was a 10 year member of Greenwood Volunteer Fire Dept., where he served a 2 year term as treasurer and also as assistant bingo chairman for 5 years. Michael also volunteered at the James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center for 3 years.
A devout Pittsburgh Pirate and Penguins fan, he also enjoyed fishing, spending time with his dogs, Issac and Lily, and family get togethers with the ones he loved.
He will be sadly missed by all.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4pm, Monday, March 28, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 4pm Monday at the funeral home, with Rev. Larry Glaze officiating.
The family suggests contributions in Michael’s memory be made to Tyrone American Legion.
