Obituary for Naomi J. Weiser (Cook)
Naomi J. Weiser, 89, of Bellmeade, formerly of Bellwood, died early Wednesday morning, September 21, 2022 at Altoona Center for Nursing Care.
She was born September 24, 1932 in Bellwood, a daughter of the late John W. and Mary M. (Persing) Cook.
Surviving are her son, James “Jimmy” Weiser of Altoona; a daughter, Katherine M. “Kt” (Weiser) Wansley of Hollidaysburg; a granddaughter, Mia Bella; a brother, John P. (Gail) Cook of Antis Township; and two sisters, Catharine E. Wills of Warminster and Mary Lou (William) Gilbert of Mechanicsburg.
Naomi was a 1950 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School. In 1996, she retired as a billing clerk at Altoona Hospital. She attended Trans4mation Church, Altoona. Naomi was a former board member of IM4Q at St. Francis University.
She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, Wii bowling and attending the senior dances at the Bavarian Club.
Friends will be received from 10 am to noon on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at noon on Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Rich Maher officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
The family suggests that contributions in her memory be made to The Arc of Blair County or Skills of Central PA.
