Obituary for Norman E. Steinbauer Sr.
Norman E. Steinbauer, Sr., 78 of Martinsburg, formerly of Moser Road, Antis Township, died unexpectedly Friday, August 12, 2022 at his home.
He was born December 26, 1943 in Altoona, son of the late Francis X. and Evie C. (Himes) Steinbauer.
On July 27, 1963, he married Joyce L. Hermesky at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Bellwood. She preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2018.
Surviving are his four children, Gloria (Walter) Johnson of Aurora, Colorado, Norman E., Jr. (Kihye) of Black Lick, Ohio, Robert F. of Wichita, Kansas, and Jeffrey L. (Jean) of Dumfries, Virginia; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Evie Speck of Bellwood and Donna McCulloch of Altoona.
He was preceded in death by an infant son; and two siblings, Carrol Ann and Robert F.
Norman was a 1961 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and in 2005, he retired as a block operator at Small Tube Products, Duncansville.
Norman enjoyed farming, gardening and caring for the farm animals.
Friends will be received from noon to 1pm Friday, Aug. 19, 2022 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1pm Friday at the church, the Rev. Allen P. Zeth, as celebrant. Committal will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
The family suggests that contributions in Norman’s memory be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Newry.
