Richard L. “Dick” Endress, 84, of Bellwood, died late Monday evening, June 27, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 7, 1937 in Bellwood, son of the late Harry and Gretta (Miller) Endress. On Aug. 11, 1963, he married Patricia J. Hamilton at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bellwood.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Brett W. (Sue) of Altoona and Lynn E. (Diana Santillan) of Boonesboro, Md.; a daughter, Brenda E. Earnest (Robert Terwilliger) of Bellwood; six grandchildren; Stephanie (Rich), Joseph (Brittany), Julia (Jim), Laura (Matt), Carly (Justin) and Dylan; and 9 great grandchildren; Dominic, Dimitri, Colin, Gianna, Olivia, Charlie, Sophia, Travis and Gavin.
Dick was a 1957 graduate of Bellwood-Antis High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired as a warehouse supervisor at Butterick Co., Inc., Altoona, and was a greeter for Bellwood Antis School District for many years.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Sinking Valley and Bellwood Sportsmen’s Club. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating.
Dick and his beloved wife had a fairy tale marriage. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, he loved his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11am, Friday, July 1, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Sinking Valley, with Pastor Drew Baker officiating.
