Sandra K. “Sandy” Snyder, 80, Port Matilda, formerly of Antis Township died Saturday morning, November 26, 2022 at Epworth Manor, Tyrone. She was born March 10, 1942 in Altoona, a daughter of the late William D. and Lorraine (Laughlin) Snyder. On March 16, 1961 she married Lester E. Snyder in Tyrone. He preceded her in death
on April 23, 2013.
Surviving are her two children, Christopher D. of Bellwood and Penny R. (Ryan Howell) Prough of Port Matilda; 3 grandchildren, Kelsey N. Prough, Aaron Bowman and Gracelyn Howell; and three siblings, Gary W. (Debbie) Snyder, Carol A. (Ken) Graham and Sylvia E. Moyer, all of Altoona.
Sandy was a 1960 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona and the Sinking Valley Grange. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, reading, doing crafts, camping and traveling.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions in Sandy’s memory be made to Central PA Humane Society, Altoona.
