Obituary for Stanley E. Morrissey

Stanley E. Morrissey, 81, of Bellwood, died early Thursday morning, October 6, 2022 at UPMC Altoona,
after an extended battle with Parkinson’s disease.
He was born November 9, 1940 in Philipsburg, a son of the late Wilbur and Sara (Harpster) Morrissey.
On Sept. 14, 1963, he married Marjorie E. McCaulley at United Brethren Church, Tyrone.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Brian E. (Dina), Patrick D. and Bradley S., all of Bellwood;
two grandchildren, Erin and Abbie (Shane) Downs; and two sisters, Peggy Kochera and Carol Waite, both of Tyrone. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric L.; and three siblings, Wilbur, Melvin and Nancy Burns.
He was a 1959 graduate of Tyrone Area High School. In 1999, he retired as a boiler operator at Appleton Papers, Roaring Spring.
Stanley was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Tyrone, Evergreen Hunting Club, Spruce Creek and Bellwood-Antis Historical Society. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm, Monday, Oct. 10, 2022 at Jon C. Russin
Funeral Home, Inc. Bellwood. A funeral service will be held at 11am Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2022 at the funeral home, with Pastor Tina Hawkins officiating. Interment will be at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
The family suggests that contributions in Stanley’s memory be made to Parkinson’s Foundation.
